Skilled Workers living in Queensland

Migration Queensland will only consider EOIs lodged on or after 5 September 2023. Any updated EOIs will not be considered. To be eligible for a Queensland nomination, the applicant must meet both the Department of Home Affairs and Migration Queensland criteria for the visa category you are applying for.

Some of the eligibility criteria for Migration Queensland

Skilled Nominated (permanent) visa (subclass 190)

Points

Although department of Home Affairs criteria is to have points test result of 65 or higher, Migration Queensland require you to have a minimum of 75 points (except for relevant Trades occupations which require 70 or higher).

Work Experience

Must provide evidence of living in Queensland and undertaking full-time post qualification employment (minimum 30 hours per week), in your nominated or closely related occupation for three months immediately prior to lodging EOI and must continue to be employed in your nominated occupation while EOI is being assessed.

Ongoing employment

Must provide evidence of ongoing full-time employment for a further 12 months at time of EOI lodgement in your nominated occupation.

Commitment to living in Queensland

Must commit to living and working in Queensland for two years from date of visa grant.

Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491)

Points

Migration Queensland require you to have a points test result of 65 or higher.

Work Experience

Must provide evidence of living in Queensland and undertaking full-time post qualification employment (minimum 30 hours per week), in your nominated or closely related occupation for three months immediately prior to lodging EOI and must continue to be employed in your nominated occupation while EOI is being assessed.

Ongoing employment

Must provide evidence of ongoing full-time employment in regional Queensland for a further 6 months at time of EOI lodgement in your nominated occupation.

Commitment to living in Queensland

Must commit to living and working in Queensland for three years from date of visa grant.

Note: Only one EOI submission is required with both visas selected if you are eligible for both the 190 and the 491 visas. If multiple EOIs are submitted, then only the first one will be selected in the queue and rest will be close. Only one invitation will be offered.
