On 6th June,2024, 2023-24 Tasmanian Skilled Migration State Nomination program was announced to be closed to new Registration of Interest (ROI)
If a candidate has been invited to apply for nomination but have not yet lodged, it can be lodged before the invitation expiry date. No further invitations to apply for nomination will be issued this program year.
Migration Tasmania will continue to assess applications for nomination that have been lodged but not yet decided, however only few nomination places remain and so not all applicants will be nominated this program year. Once all nomination places are used, any applications that are approved will be nominated after Tasmania receives its nomination allocation for the 2024-25 program year.
Green and Gold Pass ROIs
ROIs that have been allocated a green or gold pass will continue to be held in the Application Gateway and considered for an invitation to apply for nomination when the 2024-25 program opens.

Skilled Nominated (subclass 190) visa:
- Nominations – 594 of 600 places used
- Nomination applications lodged but not decided – 53

Skilled Work Regional (subclass 491) visa:
- Nominations – 591 of 600 places used
- Nomination applications lodged but not decided – 14
- Invitations to apply for nomination issued but not yet accepted – 56
- Registrations of interest on hand – 564
*After a case is allocated for processing, Migration Tasmania aims to provide an outcome within 10 days.
Migration Tasmania selects ROIs to apply for nomination on an ongoing basis, with up to 30 invitations to be issued each week. Only the most competitive ROIs are selected to apply for nomination.
